Missing Ubuntu

I miss running Ubuntu in my Toshiba laptop. Alas, the graphics software for the Linux flavor doesn’t work really well and I am not able to maximize it at all compared to the Windows platform. It seems to me that Toshiba has indeed partnered with Windows to make their laptops more efficient and thus, I haven’t really experienced any problems or any major virus at all so far with the Windows platform. And now they have Windows 7. Anyway, hopefully by next year I will get a chance to get my hands on Linux again. I am thinking of trying Sony Vaio by next year and see what’s the difference if it runs on Linux. But until then, I would have to be more patient in sticking it out with this particular system.

Speaking of technology, Adobe CS4 is already out. Wow. Seems to me that they keep churning out a new one every year or at least, every other year. The one thing that I like about Linux is that it has free software that I can already use once I open the laptop. And looking for the needed software is not a problem as well. Anyway, I guess you could say I still have a hangover about Linux and that if given a chance, I would want to go back to the Linux platform. But until then, I will learn to live within my limits and what I can use with this Windows platform. Now Sony with Linux inside? That would truly be something else indeed and that’s something that I am actually looking forward to exploring.

I guess what I like about having a different operating system is that nobody else can understand it except me or someone who is using a Linux platform.
